PITTSFIELD — Pittsfield Police are investigating another report of shots fired in a residential neighborhood.

After responding to a report of gunshots about 12:47 a.m. Wednesday on Bartlett Avenue, city and state police responded and found shell casings and other evidence of gunfire in the road.

Police said potential witnesses in the vicinity were uncooperative.

Other witnesses, who were inside their homes when the shots rang out, heard the gunfire but did not see anyone who may have been involved.

Police said no one was apparently injured by any of the shots.

This comes after an incident Monday afternoon in which shots were fired near the intersection of Lincoln and Second streets.

No one was injured in that incident and police recovered shell casings and a loaded handgun from a nearby storm drain.

Both cases are under investigation by the Pittsfield Police Detective Bureau. Anyone with information is asked to call 413-448-9705.
