DALTON -- The Pittsfield High School girls soccer team scored on free kicks on either side of halftime to earn its first win in Dalton since 2009, 3-0, over Wahconah on Wednesday.

Carly Robinson had a goal and an assist, delivering a ball to Allie Supranowicz for a score less than 2 minutes before halftime. Robinson struck again in the 45th minute before Chelsea Lucaroni scored the final tally with 3 minutes left.

"I can’t fault my kids for their work ethic," said Warriors coach Pat West. "They worked hard. You’ve got to hand it to Pittsfield. They’re strong in the midfield, well-coached, good ball skills. They’re a real team."

Allie Hunt made three saves to earn a second straight shutout for the Generals. Jamie Downer stopped five shots for Wahconah.

Ludlow 5, Taconic 0

PITTSFIELD -- The Braves hung tough for the first 30 minutes before Ludlow was able to wear the hosts down at Berkshire Community College.

"They have a very deep bench. I had three subs today," said Taconic coach Mark Wasnewsky. "That made it tough. I think we just started running out of gas. They play the perfect game almost. They’ll find your flaws pretty quickly."

Wasnewsky said the game showed him what his team needs to work on but also what the Braves are doing right. New keeper Basile Addy made six saves, drawing praise from the Ludlow coaching staff.

Lee 4, St. Joseph’s 1

NEW LEBANON, N.Y. -- A three-goal outburst in the second half gave the Wildcats the win in the championship game of the New Lebanon tournament.

"St. Joseph’s came out playing really well," said Lee coach Matt Kollmer. "They had a chance to put us in the hole at halftime, but they didn’t capitalize. We could have been down 3-1 instead of tied."

Lee came out with a little more intensity, said Kollmer, which proved to be the difference.

"I told them at halftime, ‘Look, you have to play hard every game,’ " said Kollmer. "You can’t take it easy. And they responded."
