SPRINGFIELD -- It was more a case of when rather than if, but the Lee volleyball team qualified for the Western Massachusetts Division III tournament Friday night.

The Wildcats (10-0) swept host Sabis 25-17, 25-18, 25-18 to get over the 50-percent mark and earn that postseason trip.

"Absolutely," said Lee coach John Warner, when asked if this was the first item to scratch off the to-do list. "We want to make tournament play and hope we do well this year."

Lauren Richardson led the way for the Wildcats with 10 kills, four aces, a block and six assists. Katie Morin had seven kills, a block and 15 assists for the Wildcats and Vanessa Castillo chipped in with seven kills, three aces and five digs.
