Lane Grogan
Senior quarterback, Wahconah
An old-style, leather-helmet player. Went both ways, as a quarterback and defensive back, and could run and pass. Also the punter, at times from the shotgun.
The coach's take: His intelligence and leadership allowed me to implement a lot of new things offensively and defensively. As a free safety, he was the quarterback of the defense.

Senior QB, McCann Tech
The Hornets' Mr. Everything. Solid passer and an outstanding runner. Had deceptive speed and threw well on the run.
The coach's take: He was a triple threat. He threw kicked and could also catch the ball.

Hank Barrett
Senior QB, Mount Greylock
The Mounties' field general before going down with an injury late in the season. Also played a solid defensive back.
The coach's take: A tremedously efficient quarterback for us.

Ethan Ryan
Senior running back, Mount Greylock
Not big, (5-foot-7, 180 pounds), but the offensive MVP is as tough as they come. A deceptively elusive runner who only got better as the pressure mounted.
The coach's take: He had an incredible year for us. Way beyond my expectations.

Senior RB, St. Joseph's
The Crusaders' backfield star. Big and fast, Wiggins was tough to bring down, especially in the open field.
The coach's take: He had a broken toe most of the year, and still had a great season for us.

Jose Melendez
Senior RB, Drury
A 1,000-yard rusher for the Blue Devils. Melendez made the transition from quarterback to running back with ease. A good broken-field runner.
The coach's take: He was our number one offensive threat. He had the ability to make people miss.

Darrow Brown
Junior wide receiver, Wahconah
Brown was Grogan's favorite target during the regular season and into the playoffs. Not a big guy, he was exceptionally good at getting separation from defensive backs.
The coach's take: Darrow was our best athlete. Darrow can make plays all over the field. As a receiver, I felt the other team had to account for him on every play. Big catches and big gains. He always seemed to come up with those things.

Nick Sitzer
Junior WR, Lee
Sitzer was consistent throughout the year, and a good blocker for the Wildcats' ground game.
The coach's take: He played tight end and wide receiver for us. A first-year guy who played well.

Tank Roberson
Senior WR, St. Joseph's
Roberson was the Crusaders' long threat. The senior had good hands and was always able to get open.
The coach's take: There is no more gifted athlete in the county. He thinks basketball is his best game. I think it's football.

Jordan Fiske
Senior tight end, Wahconah
Fiske was another of the Warriors' strong two-way players, making the grab on the long pass reception that set up Wahconah's go-ahead score late in the first half of the W. Mass. D-II Super Bowl. He was also a great defensive end for the Super Bowl champs.
The coach's take: Fiske was a dominant player. As a tight end in the county championship and the Super Bowl, he had two big games as a tight end. His physical presence was what we needed most.

T.J. Therrien
Senior TE, McCann Tech
Maybe the most sure-handed receiver in the county. The Hornets' go-to guy in the clutch.
The coach's take: He was a great possesion receiver for us. He stepped up this year.

Pat Latini
Senior center, St. Joseph's
A solid blocker and the anchor of the Crusaders' line.
The coach's take: Not a vocal kid, but his work ethic is outstanding. He could block a truck.

Robby Buffis
Junior guard, Mount Greylock
The 6-1 Buffis was a big key for the Wildcats' running game.
The coach's take: A rock-solid guy who played very physical football.

Jordan Pasquarelli
Senior G, Taconic
A fundamentally sound player who was the mainstay for the Braves' running game.
The coach's take: We had a ton of injuuries, so he played all over: on the line, as a running back. A team leader.

Andrew Leitch
Senior tackle, Mount Greylock
Blocking was Leitch's specialty, and one of the keys to the Mounties' success. Leitch is also a former All-Eagle hockey MVP for St. Joseph's.
The coach's take: Andrew was tough as nails, a battler.

Senior T, Hoosac Valley
Hoosac's big man, at 6-3, 230. An imposing blocker and hard hitter.
The coach's take: He excelled on the line for us. And he was a mentor for our younger players.

Junior kicker, Hoosac
The Hurricanes' Mr. Clutch. Maker of big kicks for the past two years.
The coach's take: Ian was much more than a kicker for us, although he made some big kicks. He was a team leader and a tough kid.

Tajaye Davis
Senior defensive tackle, Pittsfield
Big, tough and a great competitor, Davis was the Generals' anchor on the line.
The coach's take: A four-year starter for us. A tremendous athlete.

Junior DT, Mount Greylock
Equally good against the run or the pass, Disanti was a tough cookie on the line.
The coach's take: A physical, hard-nosed player for us. A real asset.

Superb pass-rusher who contained the opponent's running game well for Berkshire County's best defense.
The coach's take: The best defensive end I've ever seen or coached. Period.

The Hurricanes' defensive standout. Solid pass-rusher.
The coach's take: Jake was a kid with a tremendous work ethic all year.

Senior defensive lineman, Pittsfield
Another solid defensive player for the Generals. Big (6-2) and fast.
The coach's take: A hard-nosed, tough kid.

Senior linebacker, St. Joseph's
The defensive MVP is quick, smart and intuitive on defense and offense.
The coach's take: His preparation was above and beyond anyone I've ever coached.

One of the hardest hitters in the county. Also a strong running back.
The coach's take: He brought a high level of toughness to this team his entire career.

Quick reactions made him difficult to fool on defense. Always in position.
The coach's take: Daivon was a ferocious hitter for us.

The Generals' best tackler with 145 on the year, and a hard hitter.
The coach's take: He was the hub for us on defense.

Sophomore LB, Taconic
Played several diffierent positions for the Braves due to injuries.
The coach's take: Another guy who we had to plug at a number of spots because of injuries. A two-way starter.

Matt Moriarty
Senior LB, Monument
Tough and fast, Moriarty, along with Dupont, was a big reason for the Spartans' defensive improvement.
The coach's take: Matt's been a staple on defense since I've been head coach. Our MVP for his leadership and attitide.

Josh Kelly
Senior LB, St. Joseph's
Along with Bianchi, gave the Crusaders a strong back-line defense. Very tough.
The coach's take: As soon as he came to me as a freshman, I couldn't take him off the field. He was that valuable defensively.

Alex Bush
Senior LB, Drury
Hard hitter and a smart defender, Bush was a great all-around player for the Blue Devils.
The coach's take: He was the heart and soul of our defense.

Senior defensive back, Mount Greylock
Another heady ballplayer on the Greylock roster. Strong in pass coverage.
The coach's take: He was our unsung hero. He was a big-play guy for us.

Senior DB, Lee
A very hard hitter for the Wildcats. Lee's most consistent defender.
The coach's take: Ryan was the kind of kid, in terms of attitude and toughness, that you wish you had 11 of for your team.

Joe DiMassimo
Senior DB, Wahconah
A great two-way player for the Super Bowl champions. DiMassimo was a solid tackler on defense.
The coach's take: Another captain. Very intelligent player. Undersized, but with his intelligence and his ability to anticipate throws, he made key interceptions for us during the year.

Zach Rocca
Senior DL, Wahconah
Along with DiMassimo, helped to make a potent defense for the Warriors. Rocca's fourth-quarter interception of a South Hadley screen pass helped seal a Super Bowl win.
The coach's take: Zach was a fiery defensive tackle. Then again, at certain times, he'd come up with those big plays. On the defensive line, he was a person who got better each week, and that culminated in him making one of the big plays of the Super Bowl.

Brett McCormack
Senior punter, Mount Greylock
Consistent, which is what coaches pray for in a punter. A deep kicker who could also "pooch" the ball to the coffin corner.
The coach's take: The last couple of years, he has been a great punter for us. He's made some very big kicks.
