CHICOPEE -- Behind five goals each from Adam Parker and Quinn Caesar, the Wahconah boys lacrosse team earned its first win of the year Wednesday, 14-7 at Chicopee Comp.

Matt Clayton added three goals and three assists for the victors (1-2). Roger Stedman and Jake Wasielewski combined for 12 saves.

"A lot of off-ball movement for Adam," WRHS coach Paul Lange said. "He was cutting through the middle pretty good, finding the seam and taking good shots. With Quinn ... he dodges well. He was able to generate his own opportunities, for the most part."

NORTH ADAMS -- The Blue Devils dropped to 0-2 but coach Al Marceau wasn't discouraged about his young team.

"We're going to have growing pains," Marceau said. "They're doing a lot of things right. Even today at the end of the game I felt like we played hard right to the end. When you're young you make mistakes when you can least afford to make them."

Drury had seven errors and only one of the Crusaders' eight runs was earned. Tyler Cote and Tyler Briggs combined to have nine strikeouts on the day for the Blue Devils.

Michael Carpenter earned the win for St. Joseph while teammate Jon Bianchi doubled in the win.
