Western Massachusetts finally has its second win in Shrine Chowder Bowl Classic history.

The west side, which included four Berkshire County players, beat Central Mass. 13-0 on Friday night in Leominster. It's the first win for Western Mass. since 2003, and just the second in the series that has been played since 2001.

St. Joseph's Jon Bianchi had a fourth-quarter interception for the West, which got touchdowns from Sam Blake of East Longmeadow and Ryan Wilder of Turners Falls.

St. Joseph's Lavante Wiggins and Tank Roberson, Lee's Nick Sitzer and Wahconah's Jordan Fiske were also part of the Western Mass. squad.

"[Bianchi's interception] gave us a short field, and when we did get a short field ... we scored," said Wahconah head coach and West assistant coach Gary Campbell Jr.

"Lavante and Tank on special teams did a great job. Jon played a hell of a safety, and Jordan played a heck of a tight end. There's no doubt our kids showed what Western Mass. and Berkshire County football can do."
