PITTSFIELD -- Mitch Clary and Ryan Shook drove in two runs each, Joey Dewey struck out six batters in a complete-game performance, and Pittsfield Post 68 beat North Adams 5-2 in American Legion play on Friday.
Clary's two-run double was the big hit of Post 68's (5-1) three-run third inning at Clapp Park. Shook had RBI singles in the third and fifth innings.
Dewey gave up two runs, just one of them earned, and walked just one batter.
"He had everything working," Post 68 coach Jim Mazzer said. "He was right around the plate. They were doing a lot of first-ball hitting. That made it good on him. He was in control."
Alex Carusotto added two hits for Post 68. Robert Jutras, called in to pitch when Tanner Bird was lifted with soreness after just two-thirds of an inning, went 2 for 3 at the plate for North Adams.
