PITTSFIELD -- North Adams batted around in the fifth inning, scoring nine runs to rally from a 6-0 deficit to defeat Don Gleason North 9-6 in the opening game of the District I 11-year-old Little League Tournament at Springside Park on Friday.

Jarid Labonte had a pair of hits and two RBI in the fifth for North Adams, while Corbin Rumbolt had a two-run double in the inning.

Dalton Tatro went the distance for the win for North Adams, while Caden Frazier took the loss.

Cole Wojtkowski had two doubles and three RBI for Don Gleason North.

Springside hosts a doubleheader today, as Great Barrington plays Myron Grey West at noon, while Pittsfield South will play Don Gleason North at 2 p.m.

PITTSFIELD -- Pittsfield South had little trouble in the tournament opener, shutting out Great Barrington.

Joe Cracolici pitched four shutout innings and recorded six strikeouts for the winners. Teammate Ian Benoit had two hits and scored three runs while Jon Halse had three hits.

PITTSFIELD -- Joe Dewey fired a complete-game two-hitter as Post 68 improved to 8-2 with a 5-0 win over the Tyler Aces at Clapp Park.

Brian Bonacquisti's bases-loaded double in the fifth inning broke the contest open. Mike Cleary had two hits for Post, while Pat Latini was the losing pitcher for the Aces.
