Pittsfield 7, Taconic 1
PITTSFIELD -- The Generals wanted to get back on the field almost as soon as they lost their opener to West Springfield.
They made the most of every opportunity Friday at Kirvin Park, leading 4-1 at the half and never looking back.
Trinity Cookis scored a little more than 40 seconds into the match, and Pittsfield (1-1) answered Rachael Donahue's tying goal with three unanswered tallies to end the first half.
"Trin got us going quickly, scoring in the first 40 seconds of the game, which was good to see," PHS coach Andy Waluszko said. "I liked how we responded [after the tying goal]."

Greylock 3, W. Springfield 1
WEST SPRINGFIELD -- The Mounties struck first, but that was all the offense they could produce.
The Terriers were able to utilize their skill and team speed to score three unanswered tallies. Greylock coach Tom Ostheimer said they were all good goals. Danielle Couture's goal, which proved to be the game-winner, came with less than four minutes left in the opening half off a corner. She opted to not cross the ball into the box, but rather just inside the back post for a 2-1 lead.
"I'm proud of the girls for playing against a very good team," Ostheimer said.
Kelsey Orpin scored from the top of the box off a feed from Miranda Bucky to open the scoring 6:55 into the game.
