LEE -- The Lee volleyball team swept St. Joseph in three sets Friday, 25-9, 25-8, 25-7.
Liz Consolati led the Wildcats (3-0) with four kills and five aces, while Haleigh Richardson had two kills and three aces and Justine Spare added four aces and four kills.
McCann 7, Putnam 1
NORTH ADAMS -- The McCann Tech girls’ soccer team made up for not scoring in the opener.
Cheyanne Alcombright led the way with a hat trick, while sweeper C.J. Schleich had two goals to help the cause.
"I wasn’t sure where the offense was going to come from," McCann coach Mike Dowling said. "It’s nice to at least get some kind of rhythm down and score some goals."
Alcombright sandwiched a Monique Martel goal to give the Hornets a 3-0 lead before the game was 14 minutes old. Schleich scored what Dowling believed was her first varsity goal in the 24th minute, giving McCann a 4-0 lead and full control of the game.
Alex Wood made four saves in goal before giving way to Alanza Quinones.

PHS 3, Minnechaug 1
WILBRAHAM -- The Generals handed Division I power Minnechaug its first defeat of the young season on Thursday night.
Pittsfield took a 2-0 lead at halftime on goals by Claudio Velez and Louis Higuera. The latter score came with no time on the clock.
"That pumped us up, but at halftime, we talked about it being a 0-0 game," said Pittsfield coach Andrew Antil. "They pressed us pretty hard, but [goalie] Harrison [Rapant] took charge, and our defense was outstanding."

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- The Ephs opened the Union Invitational with a solid showing against SUNY-Oneonta. The Ephs dispatched the Red Dragons in straight sets (25-22, 25-12, 25-17).
Claire Miller had a team-high 12 kills, while Tori Jasuta had 11. Emily Doll finished with 10 digs.
The Ephs carried that through their second match, beating the SUNYAC’s other Red Dragons by the same score.
MCLA women’s tennis
NORTH ADAMS -- The Trailblazers were unable to record a point against Sage, falling 9-0.
The Gators took control for the beginnings, sweeping the doubles matches in convincing fashion. The rolled through the singles matches too, as not one made it to a third set.
