BERLIN, N.Y. -- Taconic’s volleyball team had little trouble on the road Friday. The Braves dispatched Berlin in three sets, 25-13, 25-8, 25-6.

Jackie Kays tallied nine aces and six assists for Taconic (5-2), while Kristi Steadman added three kills, an ace and a dig.

Taconic coach Jen Doerle praised her team’s all-around effort.

"Great serving, great passing and we had three or four hitters making three or four kills apiece," she said.

Westfield 3, Pittsfield 2

WESTFIELD -- The Generals led after three sets and were up 19-16 in the fourth set, but couldn’t hold on, falling 25-19, 19-25, 17-25, 25-21, 15-8.

"We were playing pretty well," said PHS coach Brian Lawton of the fourth set. "Then they had one tough server, and she ran off three or four points on us. I think we lost a little confidence. Overall, I thought we played an excellent match."

Sam DeCarlo picked up 19 assists, 11 digs and three aces for Pittsfield (4-2). Paige Hamilton added six kills, five aces and five digs; Emma Burnick tallied five aces and three digs; and Sienna Carpenter had five aces, four digs and three kills.

Greylock 3, Wahconah 1

DALTON -- Josie Verter’s 12 kills and Dagny Albano’s 16 assists and four aces helped the Mounties to a 25-18, 15-25, 25-17, 25-18 road win.

Hope Willie added eight kills and five blocks for the winners.

"Their defense was outstanding tonight," Wahconah coach Dave Lussier said.


"They were picking up everything that we were putting at them tonight. They had a very solid defensive game, and kept the balls in play."

Emily Jordan had 11 digs and 10 kills for Wahconah, and was backed up by Juli McBain (six assists, four kills, three digs) and Chloe Warren (eight assists, five kills).
