BERLIN, N.Y. -- Second-half goals by Jonathon Rodriguez and Luke Murphy gave the Lee boys soccer team a come-from-behind 3-2 win over Berlin on Friday.

Lee trailed 2-1 at the half, but Rodriguez scored unassisted in the 60th minute, and he was followed 12 minutes later by Murphy’s unassisted goal.

"We controlled the ball very well," Lee assistant David Duquette said. "For 70 minutes, the ball was in their side of the field. The boys passed very well, and passed to the open spot.

"Jonathon, when he came down, he went out wide and passed to the middle. They passed it back to him on the wing, and [the shot] was upper left-hand corner."

Murphy’s goal was a ground shot from the center of the field.

Josh Sampson stopped five shots for Lee, which got a first-half goal from Nick Pow.

"We had a lot of open shots on goal," Duquette said. "We missed 15 shots. The score could have been [better]. We had trouble finishing."

Agi DeFarlo scored two goals, one in each half, for Lenox. Nico Ciolfi had the other Millionaire goal.

Pat Boua had a goal and an assist for Taconic.

"It was a struggle all day," Taconic coach Mark Wasnewsky said. "Lenox brought a very good game to the field, and we just didn’t match up with them for the whole 80 minutes. The results are indicative of that mistake."

Girls
Pittsfield 2, Monument 1

PITTSFIELD -- Freshman Ilana Albert scored her first varsity goal in the 36th minute, putting the Generals ahead for good.

Albert found the corner of the goal from approximately 10 yards out, on a feed from Allie Supranowicz.

"It was a give-and-go with Supranowicz right up the middle," PHS coach Andy Waluszko said. "They worked it really well."

Supranowicz had scored Pittsfield’s (5-1) tying goal in the 25th minute. Monument’s Ashley Harrington gave the Spartans an early lead with a goal in the eighth minute.

"It was a nice goal. It was on a set piece," Waluszko said. "They had a direct kick outside the box, about 30 yards out. [Haley Korte] chipped it and [Harrington] headed it in.

"It woke us up. I like the way we responded."
