Cathedral 168, St. Joe 174

PITTSFIELD -- A 42 from Patrick Vander Vennet was not enough for St. Joseph to beat Cathedral.

The teams played the front nine at the par-35 Pontoosuc Lake Country Club.

Danielle Lapierre and Andy Cella shot 43 and 44, respectively. But the 38 from Cathedral's Pat Ryan was too much to overcome for the Crusaders.

St. Joe coach Fran Brilliant said his team was a couple shots away from victory.

"That's a really tough score for us to get to. It's tough to get to the 160s," Brilliant said. "Andy and Danielle have been around 40 the whole year but we had a few loose shots today."
