GREAT BARRINGTON -- The Monument Mountain volleyball team has only won three times this year, but win No. 3 brought smiles to the faces of the Spartans.
Monument (3-11) needed to win the final two sets to beat Mount Everett 13-25, 25-19, 15-25, 25-21, 15-11.
"This is the fourth time we've played in a fifth set," said Monument coach Mike Troiano. "It was the first time we played well in the fifth set."
Emily Barbeau had 21 assists to lead Monument while Caitlyn Osak had seven assists, five kills and seven digs. Brianna Davis had 11 aces for the Spartans, eight kills and four digs.
Mount Everett's Ashley Shaw had 12 assists and four digs, Parker Snyder had five aces and Cara Ormsbee had 12 digs and two aces.
Lenox 3, Mount Greylock 0
LENOX -- The Lenox volleyball team gave the home crowd a solid victory on Monday's senior night against Greylock. The Millionaires picked up their 11th win of the season, 25-23, 25-20 and 25-22.
Kristin Read led the Millionaires with 29 assists. Lizzy Barry added seven kills and three aces, and Sophie Silverstein had five kills, four aces and five digs.
Hope Willis led Greylock with six kills and five blocks. Kelsey Hadley had six kills and seven digs and Jenna Markland added 24 digs.
Lenox coach Ed Paquette said his team settled in as the game went on.
"We weren't making passes to the setter but we started to focus more setting the ball. The hitters took over from there," Paquette said.
Lee 3, Pittsfield 0
LEE -- Lee put together a solid performance dropping Pittsfield 25-13, 25-10, 25-18.
Katie Morin led the Wildcats with 14 kills and two blocks. Kendra Williams had three kills, five aces and 26 assists and Courtney Picard added six kills.
Sam DeCarlo had seven assists and two kills for Pittsfield. Paige Hamilton added four kills and six digs.
Lee coach John Warner said his team's strong serving powered them to a win.
"Our serve has become our most dangerous weapon as of late. They struggled with their serve-receive tonight," Warner said.
Taconic 3, Ludlow 2
PITTSFIELD -- Taconic needed five sets to beat non-league opponent Ludlow Monday. The Braves won 25-19, 21-25, 23-25, 25-19, 16-14.
Taconic (13-3) needed to rally down seven points in the fifth set for the victory.
Haley Hubbard had 12 kills, one ace and five digs for the Braves. Nyanna Slaughter had 12 kills, two aces, two digs and a block and Alyssa Doerle added 11 kills, four aces, three digs and a block.
Coach Jennifer Doerle said her team didn't play its best.
"The game was closer than it should have been. Luckily we were able to force a fifth set and pull it out," Doerle said.
Wahconah 3, St. Joseph 0
PITTSFIELD -- Wahconah used a strong service game to beat St. Joseph 25-9, 25-14, 25-19.
Kayla Pravia led Wahconah with five aces and two kills. Faith Pudlo had two aces and four kills and Holly Chappell had two aces and five kills.
Aileen Archenbault led St. Joe with three kills and three digs, and Andrea Krahforst-Lang added three kills, four assists and three digs.
St. Joe coach Peter Strack said Wahconah's serving caused problems for his team.
"We just had serve-receive problems. They had good hard serves coming at us. We let too many drop in between," Strack said.
