WESTFIELD -- Bailey Patella had a triple-double with 20 points, 11 assists and 10 steals, and Lenox scored 41 points in the third quarter to roll to an 89-34 win over St. Mary's of Westfield.
"Well, we jumped out to a big lead after a quarter, but they played us even in the second quarter, so we challenged our players at halftime," said Lenox coach Scott Sibley. "And the kids kind of took it to them."
Ben Herrick added 18 points for the winners. St. Mary's got 27 of their 34 points from guard Frank Thresher.
Mount Greylock 54, Drury 48
NORTH ADAMS -- Jake Benzinger's 17 points led the Mounties in this come-from-behind win. Greylock trailed, 27-18 at intermission.
"We couldn't score in the second half," said Blue Devil coach Jack Racette. "But give them credit. They outplayed us."
Justin Girard led Drury with 14.
Renaissance 77, Mount Everett 69
SPRINGFIELD -- The home team shot out to a 28-16 lead after a quarter, and Mount Everett spent the rest of the game trying to catch up.
"They jumped all over us in the first quarter," said Eagle coach Jowe Warren. "We kept hanging around, and we had it down to six in the last quarter. We rebounded from our poor performance last week against Lee."
Sage Angell's 26 led the Eagles, while Carlos Gonzales led the winners with 23.
Brattleboro 59, Taconic 53
BRATTLEBORO, Vt. -- The Braves fell behind at halftime, 30-21. They rallied, but the hosts held on.
"We got into foul trouble and they got the ball into the post," said Taconic coach Bill Heaphy. "This was our seventh game in December, the most I've ever coached. I'm glad the month is over."
Wahconah 51, Hampshire 33
DALTON -- The Wahconah boys basketball team used a dominant first half to capture a win.
With a 15-point lead at halftime, Hampshire could not muster up enough offense to challenge the Warriors.
Collin Parrott led Wahconah with 15 points, including three 3-pointers.
"We came with a lot of intensity on defense. The whole night was a great effort with us really trying to limit them to one possession," Wahconah coach Dustin Belcher said.
McCann 77, Westfield Voc. 55
WESTFIELD -- A big scoring night from guard Shane Fuller propelled the McCann Tech boys to a win.
Fuller poured in 32 points on 14 field goals, including three 3-pointers and one free throw. Coach Mike Nykorchuck said the offense for the Hornets was generated through strong defense.
Rahmer Vincent just missed recording a triple-double with 19 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists.
"We rebounded the ball better and we had three guys with 10 rebounds. We moved the ball around better and created opportunities in transtion," Nykorchuck said.
Girls basketball: Smith Academy 33, McCann Tech 26
NORTH ADAMS -- McCann Tech struggled to find the basket.
Emajah Barton and Cheyenne Alcombright each scored 5 points, but 17 points from Smith Academy's Katie Yagoozinaky was too much for McCann to overcome.
"[Smith Academy] is a good team. They have a couple good scorers, but we have to put it in the basket -- we missed a lot of shots," McCann coach Mike Dowling said.
