HARTFORD, Conn. -- The Trinity men’s hockey team got a measure of revenge from Williams’ win at Fenway Park last month.
Sean Orlando scored two goals as the Bantams beat the Ephs 2-1 on Sunday afternoon. It wrapped up a disappointing weekend for the Ephs, who also lost at Wesleyan on Saturday and fell to third in NESCAC.
Trinity and Amherst are both 11-3, while the Ephs are 9-3-2 in conference play
Zander Masucci scored Williams’ only goal.
Pittsfield 51, Minnechaug 34
WILBRAHAM -- With Allie Hunt’s 13 points and Peyton Steinman’s 12 points leading the way, the Generals (10-6) qualified for the Western Mass. Division II tournament with a road victory.
Lauren Carnevale added 10 points for the victors, who limited Minnechaug to just 10 first-half points. Carnevale and Hunt each had double-doubles, with both girls pulling down 13 rebounds.
Easthampton 7, Mount Everett 2
SHEFFIELD -- The Eagles got second-period goals from Jacob Malicky and Aaron Norton to tie the game at 2, but Easthampton skated away with it from there.
Alex Zadworny had a hat trick for Easthampton, with Mike Grise notching a goal and four assists.
"We started the second period more physical," Mount Everett coach Aidan Gilligan said. "We were very good for the first five minutes ... and unfortunately, we didn’t keep the physicality up.
Luke Murphy added two assists, and Norton and David Ibanez had an assist each for the 0-13 Eagles. Mount Everett is back in action tonight at Berkshire School against Housatonic Valley, Conn.
Lenox 55, St. Joseph 34
PITTSFIELD -- Liz Mitts had a game-high 16 points and was one of three players to score in double figures for Lenox.
Alice Najimy had 12 and Jaclynn Hathaway added 11 for the Millionaires.
Allysa Creamer had 11 for St. Joe.
