WILLIAMSTOWN -- The Williams College women’s lacrosse team is one of five NESCAC squads to earn berths in the 32-team NCAA Division III tournament.
Tournament champion Trinity along with Williams, Amherst, Middlebury and Colby all qualified.
Williams will play the winner of the game between Wheaton (Mass.) and Emmanuel. Wheaton and Emmanuel will play on Wednesday and the winner comes to Cole Field Saturday.
NESCAC women’s tennis
BRUNSWICK, Maine -- Williams came up short in its bid for a third title in the last four years as Amherst beat the Ephs 5-1.
Amherst won two of the three doubles points and won three singles matches to clinch the NESCAC crown. The deciding match came at No. 1 singles as Jordan Brewer beat Williams’ Kara Shoemaker 6-2, 7-6.
Suffolk 8, Williams 2
WILLIAMSTOWN -- The Ephs got in one of two scheduled baseball games against visiting Suffolk. The second game was rained out.
In the game that was played, the visitors broke a 2-2 tie by outscoring the Ephs 6-0 over the final three innings. Jon Lapolla’s seventh-inning grand slam capped off the win.
BRIDGEWATER -- On Saturday, MCLA’s Rachel Quackenbush gave up two runs on four hits and struck out 12. She was outpitched by Alexandra Ferri as Framingham knocked the Trailblazers out of the tourney with a 2-0 win.
Ferri scattered five hits, did not walk a batter and struck out five.
Framingham’s Andrea Smith hit a two-run single in the first inning and Ferri made that stand up.

Drury 3, Lenox 1
NORTH ADAMS -- Tyler Briggs threw a complete-game three-hitter to give Drury the win on Saturday.
The Blue Devils (7-3, 3-3) got solid pitching from Briggs, (five strikeouts and one walk) but needed a RBI-single from Logan Rumbolt in the sixth to control the game.
Drury coach Pat Boulger said Briggs did a good job of throwing strikes.
"[Briggs] struggled early, but he battled," he said. "He wasnt in command of his curvebuall, but he keep it around the plate. He did what he had to do today, I’m very proud him."

Miss Hall’s tennis
GRANBY -- The Miss Hall’s tennis team rolled to a 7-0 win over MacDuffie on Saturday.
Harmoor Mann and Qiqi Cai both won their matches by shutout. Mann beat Eliza Buglie and Cai beat Natalie Pappas by identical 8-0 scores.

Monument Mountain 3, Lenox 2
GREAT BARRINGTON -- The Spartans’ No. 2 doubles team of Hailey Higgins and Molly Amsted rallied from a 4-1 deficit in the third set Friday to pull out a win and the match for Monument Mountain.
"They were the steadier team at the end," said Monument coach Jeff Caligari, after his duo’s 6-7, 6-2, 7-5 victory over Lenox’s Racharia Lingoita and Cami Smachetti.
The Spartans (6-0) trailed 2-1 after Lenox’s No. 2 Liz Jarck and No. 3 Alex Trouslex won their matches. But the Millionaires lost both doubles matches. Monument’s Carly Shafiroff and Daniella DeFalice beat Ella King and Liz MItts 6-4, 6-2 at No. 1 doubles.
