WILLIAMSTOWN -- The Williams College women’s tennis team is moving closer to defending its NCAA Division III championship.
The Ephs, who have won six straight national titles, claimed the Williamstown Regional title on Sunday by beating Tufts 6-0.
Williams went up 3-0 by winning the three doubles points. The Ephs lost only three games in the three matches.
Kathleen Elkins put the match in the win column when she beat Tufts’ Conner Calabro 6-1, 6-1 in No. 3 singles.
Williams will play NESCAC rival Bowdoin on Monday, May 19 in the national quarterfinals at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps College in Claremont, Calif.
WILLIAMSTOWN -- Defending Division III Tufts won the Williamstown Regional Sunday, beating Endicott 11-0, in a game stopped after five innings by the mercy rule.
Tufts designated player Christina Raso broke the game open when she hit a grand slam in the bottom of the third for the Jumbos.
Baseball: Lenox 7, St. Joe 5
PITTSFIELD -- A bases-clearing single by Trevor Hathaway provided the game-winning runs for the Millionaires.
Costly mistakes came back to hurt St. Joe (4-6, 1-4), as a walk, a hitter batter and an error packed the bases.
Connor Hason earned the win, striking out three and scattering five hits.

Saturday softball: Mount Everett 9, Wahconah 0
DALTON -- At Pine Grove Park, Alicia Bazonski tossed a four-hit shutout and struck out 15 Wahconah hitters.
The Warriors committed what head coach Dustin Belcher called an uncharacteristic five errors in the game. Only three of the nine runs off Allie Borowsky were earned.
