HOWEY-IN-THE HILLS, Fla. -- Just more than halfway through the rain-delayed third round of the NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championship, Williams College senior Georgiana Salant has the individual lead.

When play was halted for the day, Salant was even par through 10 holes and held a four-shot lead over two players. The three leaders have all played 10 holes. Salant is 9 over for the tournament.

In the team competition, Williams is in sixth place with the Ephs having played between eight and 10 holes. Williams trails first-place Rhodes College by 19 shots.

The players will finish the third round beginning at 7:30 a.m. The field will then be cut to the top 12 teams and six top individuals before the start of fourth-round play.

Meanwhile, Salant was named a Division III All-American for the second straight year by the Women's Golf Coaches Association on Wednesday night. Last year, she was the first Eph to be named a first-team All-American.

Salant, along with freshmen Sarah Hasselman and Tracey Kim, were named to the All-East team.

Williams coach Erika DeSanty was named East coach of the year for the second time in her five seasons at the helm.

Cook is All-American

WILLIAMSTOWN -- Williams women's basketball player Ellen Cook was named an honorable mention All-American by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association.

The junior guard led the Ephs in points and average (371/14.3), minutes played (883), assists (101), and steals (84).

Cook was a first-team All-NESCAC selection and a third-team Northeast All-Region pick by D3hoops.com.

NESCAC baseball

HADLEY -- Williams freshman outfielder Jack Cloud has been named to the All-NESCAC baseball second team.

Cloud led the Ephs with a .402 batting average, a .463 on-base percentage and a .526 slugging percentage. His OPS (on-base and slugging) was a robust .989.

He also led the Ephs with 39 hits and four triples. Cloud drove in 22 runs.

Williams women's lacrosse

WILLIAMSTOWN -- Four Ephs have been named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association All-Berkshire region team. The All-Berkshire region consists of New England teams.

Senior midfielder Rebecca McGovern, a first-team All-NESCAC selection, and junior attack Bridget Malicki were named to the first team. Malicki was a second-team All-NESCAC pick.

Named to the regional second team were senior defender Grace Wilson and junior attack Nancy Palmer.
