It'll be Hockey Day in Williamstown this Saturday as the Williams College hockey teams each host a quarterfinal contest in the NESCAC hockey tournaments at Lansing Chapman Rink.
The men are the No. 1 seed in the NESCAC after a 18-4-2 season that saw the Ephs go 14-2-2 in the conference. The Ephs will host Tufts at 4:30 p.m. The Ephs picked up the season sweep of the Jumbos, winning 2-0 on the road at the beginning of December and 4-0 at home at the end of January.
The women, meanwhile, will host No. 5 Trinity after earning the No. 4 seed with a 12-11-1 season that had the Ephs go 8-8-0 in the NESCAC. The women will host the Bantams — the defending NESCAC champions — at 1 p.m. This is the third straight year the Ephs and Bantams have met in the conference tournament. In the regular season, the teams split their two conference games with Trinity earning a 4-2 win in the first game while Williams won 4-0 in the rematch. Last year in the quarterfinals, Trinity won 1-0.
While the Williams men host Tufts, No. 2 Trinity will welcome No. 7 Colby, No. 3 Bowdoin will host No. 6 Amherst, and No. 4 Hamilton will host No. 5 Middlebury.
In other quarterfinal games for the women, No. 1 Middlebury will host No. 8 Colby, No. 2 Amherst will host No. 7 Bowdoin and No. 3 Connecticut College will welcome No. 6 Hamilton.
