WINTER HAVEN, FLA. — Former Mount Greylock baseball standout Ian Brink made his first collegiate start for Dickinson College on Wednesday afternoon. He did not get a decision, but his squad rolled over MCLA 19-4.

Brink went 4 2/3 innings, giving up four runs (three earned) on five hits. He walked three and struck out one. The freshman right-hander's first two appearances were in relief.

Dickinson (10-3) outscored MCLA (2-4) by a 15-0 margin over the final four innings to get the win. Liam Nolan started and pitched five innings for MCLA. He gave up eight runs, five earned, on 11 hits. Slayter Aubin came on and gave up seven earned runs on three hits and four walks in 1 1/3 innings. Offensively, Nolan did have two hits for the Trailblazers.

Offensively, Ryan Dolan hit for the cycle for Dickinson, finishing it off with an eighth-inning single.


CLERMONT, FLA. >> It was a tough day for the MCLA softball team (4-4), dropping a 5-1 decision to Rutgers-Newark and then a 12-6, extra-inning decision to Ithaca.

Against Rutgers-Newark (4-6), the Trailblazers jumped out to a 1-0 lead, but gave up five unanswered runs.

In the game against Ithaca (5-3), the Trailblazers rallied from a 4-0 deficit with six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Jen Sicinski had the big hit of the inning, a two-run single.

But the Bombers responded with eight unanswered runs, including six in the top of the eighth. The Trailblazers could not get anything going in the home eighth.


Five of Ithaca's 12 runs were unearned. Katelyn Henault took the loss in relief of Rachel Quackenbush.


KEENE, N.H. >> Williams College guard Amanni Fernandez and Eastern Connecticut forward Jill Ritrosky have been named to the New England Women's Basketball Association's All-Region teams.

Ritrosky, a senior from Pittsfield, was named to the first team while Fernandez, a sophomore from Queens, was named to the second team.

Bowdoin's Shannon Brady was named player of the year.
