LEE >> The Women's Allied of Berkshire County was held at Greenock Country Club.

Carole Terlik and Trish Kellar, both of BHCC, were first gross with a score of 84 while Allison Lucey and Chris Eugin, both of Worthington, were second with the same score. The tie was broken by matching of cards.

Kathy Duguay and Sherry Lublin, both of Taconic, were third gross with an 85 while Ann Pickrell and Sharon Siegel, both of Worthington, were fourth gross with a 90.

Finally, Jane Langer, of Greenock, and Chris Ciosek, of Worthington, were fifth gross with a 96.

Meanwhile, Mari Hall and Liz Kay, both of Worthington, were first net with a 74. Liz Drury and Joan Zegras, both of Wahconah, were second net with a 74. The tie was broken by matching of cards.

Kiyoko Mills and Deb Connor, both of BHCC, were third net with a 76 while Marilyn Kirby and Adeline Ellis, both of Pittsfield CC, were fourth net with a 77.

Nancy Daigneault and Anita Hodgdon, both of Waubeeka, were fifth net with an 80.


BOSTON >> The West girls basketball team, which includes four Berkshire County players, got off to a 1-1 start at the Bay State Games on Friday at the Reggie Lewis Center.

Lenox's Alice Najimy, Hoosac Valley's Maddie Ryan, Drury's Brooke DiGennaro and Mount Everett's Gwendolyn Carpenter are on the squad.

West lost the first game of the day 51-43 after falling behind Southeast by 20 points and cutting it to seven before running out of time. The team rebounded with a 68-54 win over Northeast in the second game.


The squad will face Central and Costal today and then play Sunday morning against Metro before heading to the medal round, should they qualify.


WACHUSETT >> The Pittsfield Suns split a doubleheader with the Wahcusett Dirt Dawgs, winning the first game 4-3 and losing the second 3-2.

Trailing 1-0 in the first game, Pittsfield scored four runs in the top of the sixth and held on for the victory. Kevin Donati, Al Zachary and Eric Hamilton each had two hits for the Suns.

Ryan Simpler grabbed the win for Pittsfield, going 6 1/3 innings, before Matt Cuneo closed out the final 2/3 of an inning for the save.

In the second game, the Suns jumped out to a 2-0 lead but the Dirt Dawgs scored twice in the sixth before walking off with the win in the seventh. Austin Young doubled home Ryan Lever to win it for Wachusett.

For Pittsfield, John Nollett, Thomas Hughes, Jake Goodreau and Spencer Tinkel each had two hits.

The Suns are back in action today at home against Wachusett.


WINDSOR, ONTARIO >> Williams' Cordelia Chan tied for 11th at the Investors Group Ontario Women's Amateur at Ambassador Golf Club.

Chan's four-day score was 297, which was 9 over par. Her best round was a 72 on the first day.

Grace St-Germain won the event with a final score of -2.
