DALTON >> The team of Chris Ferriter and Joe Wilson fired a second round 69 to grab a slim lead heading into tomorrow's final round of the 45th annual Little Brown Jug at Wahconah Country Club.
The duo (-7) holds a one shot lead over Mike McCarroll and Chad Stoffer, their closest pursuers. However, there are six teams within three shots of the lead.
Sitting just two shots out of the lead at 137 are Mike Courtney and Mike Stefanik. They carded their third eagle of the weekend on the 18th as they shot a second round 69. Defending champions Bill Tefft and Brent Dietz moved up the leaderboad on the heels of a second round 68 and are three shots off the lead.
The local duo of Wahconah's Paul Briggs and Scott Hurley fired the low round of the day with a 67 and are also three shots out of the lead. The pair rolled in six birdies against a pair of bogeys in the second round.
Ferriter and Wilson began the second round with four consecutive pars before a bogey at the 5th. Consecutive birdies on the par-3 6th and par-5 7th vaulted them in front.
They turned in 34 heading into the more difficult back nine. Another bogey on the long par-3 13th was followed by a birdie on the 14th. They birdied the 16th and 18th holes to round out the round.

Another birdie at the 11th gave them the lead, but they were undone with three straight bogeys on the 14th, 15th and 16th holes to wrap up their second round 70.
