WEST SPRINGFIELD 8, MOUNT GREYLOCK 0

WILLIAMSTOWN >> Mount Greylock did not get its Friday night off to a hot start with a shutout loss against West Side.

The Terriers opened the scoring in the third minute. Greylock (1-4) held on for the next 30 minutes, but a pair of West Side goals before the half created a hill too large to climb.

"I think we have to try and highlight some of the positives," Greylock coach Tom Ostheimer said. "We need to learn from a very strong soccer team, one of the strongest in the state.

"We have to make sure it's a game that we can just learn from, turn the page and move on."

The Mounties would do well to heed their coach's advice. Greylock welcomes Lenox on Monday.
