WILLIAMSTOWN — In a game that went scoreless in the first 40 minutes, the Mount Greylock boys soccer team found its offense in the second half, leading to a 4-1 win over Lenox on Tuesday.
Lenox was playing without its go-to scorer Nic Baruch, and the Mounties' depth wore down the Millionaires (4-2-1, 2-1-1) in the second half.
Sam Dils found Aaron Kleiner for the first goal in the 47th minute. Dils added the winning goal in the 54th minute off a feed from Kleiner. The Mounties (3-1-1, 3-1-0) added two more goals before Alec Jordan finally got Lenox on the board late in the game.
"On a hot day we had a deep bench. We worked hard and kept attacking, and eventually in the second half the defense broke down," Greylock coach Blair Dils said.
The win is nice rebound for Greylock after dropping a North Division match against Pittsfield last Tuesday.
"We have a nice rivalry with Lenox and to come out on top at home is what we're looking to do," Dils said. "It's nice to get convincing win, but we've got a long way to go and a lot of work do to improve."
