In Brooklyn's toughest neighborhoods, trouble knows where to find you even if you aren't looking for it.

That's how 21-year-old heavyweight boxer Earl Newman, Jr. of East Flatbush, Brooklyn, describes his neighborhood.

Newman knows first-hand how bad it can be. His friend was murdered on the streets of Brooklyn. Newman carries his memories of the slain boy into each fight, as he successfully fights his way up the ranks of the heavyweight boxing world.
