PITTSFIELD -- The swimming pool at Berkshire Community College will officially open for the season this Saturday.

Initially only open for the weekends, the pool is staffed by a certified lifeguard at all times. Starting Monday, July 1, the pool will be open weekdays.

Weekend and weekday hours of operation are noon to 5:45 p.m.

The pool, which is handicapped accessible, ranges from 3.5 to 8 feet deep, and is approximately 70 feet long.

BCC students and staff may use the pool and all of the other Paterson Field House amenities for free with a valid BCC ID.

BCC's Paterson Field House is open to the community at-large via a membership.

Pool memberships are as follows: Daily rates for individuals are $5 and rates for families are priced at $20. Season rates are $75 for individuals and $200 for families. Male and female locker rooms, equipped with showers, are also available. Swimming lessons are available through the Pittsfield YMCA.
