To the editor of THE EAGLE:
I feel privileged to have been at the Guthrie Center performance of "Woody Sez." What a delightful biography of the great Woody Guthrie through his songs. The group of musicians was multi-talented, playing instruments from violin, bass, guitar, zither, harmonica recorder, mandolin and so on.
It was a treat for the ears. My memory was jarred and I conjured up images of fraternity parties and hootenannies from the ‘60s when I was young and idealistic. We in the Berkshires are lucky to have such a wonderful venue to experience history. I can’t wait to bring my children and grandchildren to experience the Guthrie Center and its mission to carry on the progressive values of Woody Guthrie and his pals.
I highly recommend anyone here in the Berkshires for a day, week or season to get to the Guthrie Center and enjoy what it has to offer.
