Gallery talk with designer: On Thursday at 5 p.m., Bard College at Simon's Rock will host a gallery talk and reception with New Paltz, N.Y.-based clothing designer/artist Kate Hamilton about her exhibition, "Off the Rack: Seeing Through Clothes." It is on display now through Oct. 20 in the Hillman-Jackson Gallery at the Daniel Arts Center located on campus, 84 Alford Road, Great Barrington.
Hamilton's work focuses on the architectural details and the very human experience of clothing. This collection of her work will transform the gallery into a dream environment of familiar clothing shapes translated into crumpled wax paper and translucent sailcloth. These garment pieces range in scale from human to room-size.
She is currently designing a garment set for "La Voix Humaine," a telephonic opera, to be staged in Zurich and New York. Learn more about the artist at www.katehamiltonstudio.com. For more information about the exhibit and Simon's Rock, visit http:// simons-rock.edu. Think
