To the editor of THE EAGLE:
Last month, my garden tractor broke down close to West Street where I live. Fortunately, I was able to get it running and kept it there to go to my garage to get some tools. As I prepared to return to the tractor I noticed a man who had pulled his car over circling the tractor and looking over the ledge which was very close to the parked machine. When I got there, he was said he was glad to see me as he thought I might have fallen over the ledge.
This good man and Samaritan was Michael McCarthy, the same man that the Governor’s Council turned down for a judgeship in Berkshire County even though he was recommended by Governor Patrick. He didn’t know me and I only knew of him because of articles I had read in The Eagle.
I hope the governor reads this letter, sends copies to the Governor’s Council and does whatever he has to do to get this good man on the bench in the Berkshires. Berkshire County needs this kind of a person on the bench. He is a concerned individual and should be appointed to the bench ASAP.
Thank you, Mike, for being concerned about me that day.
