PITTSFIELD -- A 34-year-old city man accused of secretly video recording himself having sex with a 14-year-old girl is now facing more charges stemming from an ongoing investigation.
Police and prosecutors allege Jason Gendron video recorded the teen while he had sex with her in his bathroom, and also video recorded two younger girls, ages 5 and 7, in the nude between Aug. 25, 2011, and March of this year. Gendron is being held on $1 million surety bail.
Gendron was arrested in July after Massachusetts State Police executed a warrant to search his home computer and discovered the images and videos, according to police.
Originally charged with four felonies, Gendron has been indicted on a total of 10 charges, including multiple counts of rape and abuse of a child aggravated by an age difference, and indecent assault and battery on a child under 14.
On Wednesday in Berkshire Superior Court, Gendron pleaded not guilty to the charges and had his bail doubled from $50,000 cash or $500,000 surety bail to $100,000 cash or $1 million surety bail by Judge John A. Agostini at the request of prosecutor Rachael Eramo.
Gendron's attorney, Joshua C. Hochberg, agreed to the new bail amount, but will likely argue to have it lowered at a future court date. Gendron remains at the Berkshire County Jail & House of Correction.
The investigation into the alleged crimes is being handled by the Pittsfield Police Department.
