To the editor of THE EAGLE:
I am writing in response to the article "Family asks Mass. court to ban pledge" in Thursday’s Eagle.
I find it interesting that, according to the article, one family and one court are going to decide for the whole state if the Pledge of Allegiance should be banned in public schools. What happened to freedom of speech, such as voting on this issue, or is that just for a certain few?
The article also asks questions about how far this will go as to other public references to God. That is my question also. How far will we as a nation go to remove or try to remove God from the public arena?
We wonder why our nation and world are in such a state. Violent crimes, rape, murder and so on are all on the rise. The same for drug and alcohol use. We should be asking Christ Jesus back into our lives and our nation and not trying to take him out. We need God as our king, protector and joy of our lives.
My question to all is -- what will you do with Christ Jesus? He is our answer.
