To the editor of THE EAGLE:
Dropping bombers in the shadow of 9/11 does not seem appropriate. Perhaps we should postpone our use of violence in Syria until the perpetrators of the atrocity are definitively identified.
In the meantime, let us reallocate a small portion of those aircraft carrier, destroyer, cruise and tomahawk missile funds and put some boots on the ground. Let us send our service people into refugee camps through the war-torn region to provide food, water, shelter, medical care and protection to the hundreds of thousands of innocent citizens who have been disenfranchised.
Do we wish to gain the trust and respect of the international community? Let us show the world what America and Americans can do.
