To the editor of THE EAGLE:
Regarding the article of Tuesday, Sept. 10, headlined "Spillover status quo," I find it difficult to understand why so much interest is given to the flow of traffic and ticket enforcement at the First Street Dunkin' Donuts. Why do we not address the problems at the Post Office when at times you cannot enter or exit Willis Street or continue driving up or down on Fenn Street?
While looking at other areas concerning traffic flow, how about the Burger King drive-thru that overflows onto Federal Street so that you cannot go up or down that street and at times cannot turn off First Street, which also stops traffic on First Street?
Along with these issues, how about all the double-parkers on North Street who stop and put on the hazard lights for instant parking and then leave the car to get bagels, pickup or drop off dry cleaning, wait for dance classes to end and maybe grab some oriental food or a slice of pizza? All of these issues are interfering with public safety. Let us be diligent in all areas of traffic not just Dunkin' Donuts!
Jaywalkers are a whole other issue that does not get addressed, but that's for another time. DOUG PEARSON
