A Berkshire County man is being held in New York state on multiple charges for allegedly stabbing his girlfriend's ex-husband and assaulting him with a baseball bat on Sunday.
Adam Richardson, 39, of Florida, is accused of ambushing the victim, Jamie Cushman, 35, outside of his home in Hamlin, N.Y., stabbing him several times and hitting him in the head with the bat, according to the Monroe County (N.Y.) Sheriff's Office.
Cushman was found about 9:30 p.m. by deputies responding to the home. New York State Police officers later apprehended Richardson in a neighboring village.
Cushman was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the sheriff's office.
The two men apparently knew each other and Cushman is the ex-husband of Richardson's current girlfriend, according to reports published in the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle.
Richardson pleaded not guilty to three felonies in Hamlin Town Court and was sent to the Monroe County Jail on $20,000 cash bail. He is scheduled to be back in court Thursday.
