PITTSFIELD -- A young man apparently escaped serious injury after being struck by a car in downtown Pittsfield Sunday evening, according to city police.
Around 7:40, officers responded to a 911 call of a pedestrian being hit near the intersection of North and Burbank streets. While the unidentified victim was conscious and alert, the male in his 20s was taken to Berkshire Medical Center for treatment, police said.
The driver of the vehicle, his name also not readily available, did remain at the scene and was questioned by officers.
No other details were available late Sunday night as the Pittsfield Police Department Traffic Division was still investigating what caused the mishap.
