To the editor of THE EAGLE:
Recently, I’ve become distraught about the price of cigarettes. The issue is this: Should people who are addicted to a substance be charged exorbitant taxes on the substance? Is the rise in price really supposed to encourage us to quit, or rather to cash in on our suffering and need?
Pretty lucrative, pretty unjust. At least we don’t have to rely on the black market -- not yet.
