PITTSFIELD -- Two city residents were charged with breaking and entering on Sunday night after they were found inside a vacant residence on Worthington Street, police said.

Amy Martin, 30, of West Street, and Jordan Lee Keele-Williamson, 29, of Robbins Avenue, were each charged with breaking and entering in the nighttime with the intent to commit a felony.

Keele-Williamson was also charged with illegal possession of ammunition. Officers discovered a rifle box containing 64 rounds of .22 caliber mini-mag ammunition while conducting an inventory search of Keele-Williamson's belongings at the police station.

Sgt. Michael Maddalena said officers were sent to Worthington Street at 11:43 p.m. Sunday after two people were observed entering the house. Residents told police that the house had been boarded up for five months.

While searching the residence, officers saw two sets of feet protruding from a rolled up carpet. The two individuals unrolled themselves from the carpet when police asked them to show their hands, Maddalena said.

Martin and Keele-Williamson are expected to be arraigned on Tuesday in Central Berkshire District Court.
