To the editor of THE EAGLE:
A few weeks ago an Eagle editorial labeled the Wall Street Journal as a "right leaning newspaper." When I proudly sold cars in Pittsfield back in the ‘90s we had a saying for customers who bought right away without haggling. We called them "lay downs."
After reading Thursday ("Locals blame GOP for 16-day national shutdown") that another proud professional, Pittsfield’s famed hot dog vendor, has determined all blame for the government shutdown is on the GOP, calling the Berkshire Eagle "left-leaning" seems a bit understated. I think "a lay down with mustard on it" seems more appropriate. JIM MASSERY
