To the editor of THE EAGLE:
This letter is to support Pamela Farron’s candidacy for the Pittsfield School Committee. I have known Pam for more than 15 years in her capacity as the director of Disabilities Services at Berkshire Community College. In the course of her work, she has exhibited the very best qualities that would make her an excellent member of the School Committee.
Pam is passionate, knowledgeable and an outstanding advocate for all of the students and parents she works with on a daily basis. Her passion for her work is exemplified by the emphasis and organizational skills she has bought to her department, expanding it from a fledgling operation to a vital and integral part of the BCC campus. She has studied federal and state laws pertaining to disabilities service as they apply not just to her position at BCC, but across the K-12 system as well. In doing so, she has become well versed in the importance of public education in the commonwealth and beyond.
Most importantly, Pam is an advocate; a person who will work hard to make education better for each and every child and family in the Pittsfield Public School System.
Pam has experienced the Pittsfield Public Schools both as a parent and a professional. Her insights, passion and dedication make Pamela Farron an outstanding candidate and leader in working to provide quality public education for all.
