To the editor of THE EAGLE:
I have spoken with Lisa Tully, a Ward 1 candidate for Pittsfield City Council, and I was really impressed. She told me she is a nurse. Our government could use someone like that. Nurses are smart, compassionate and hard-working.
I like that she has an optimistic view of the future. She talked about what a thriving industrial park might do for the city and the Morningside neighborhood. Lisa also showed real concern about dropping a big-box retailer into the William Stanley Business Park.
She spoke about providing not just a good education for the young people of her ward, but also of the need to provide good opportunities for them after graduation. I liked her congenial nature. You can tell she is a good team player who would serve her ward and the city without getting involved with petty politics.
