To the editor of THE EAGLE:
Given the recent lack of care for regular citizens shown by our federal legislators it is a breath of fresh air on the local level to know of the candidacy of Donna Todd Rivers for an at large seat on Pittsfield’s City Council.
Ms. Rivers, known widely from her recent call-in radio show on Pittsfield issues, is someone who is not part of any local political party organization but is running as an independent. She is truly concerned with all the citizens of Pittsfield wherever they live.
She has taken an active part in canvassing homes all across the city to listen and note what the people see as the problems that need solving in the city. Too often the various political camps unite to fight for their party ideologies or what
they personally want Pittsfield
Pittsfield should be what we the citizens want it to be not some select few. Electing an independent who has as her only agenda to act in the best interest of all the citizens of the city and not tied to insider directions is greatly needed.
If you believe, like me, that the gamesmanship even in local politics needs to stop, then the first step for change is to elect Donna Todd Rivers to the City Council.
