To the editor of THE EAGLE:
I am a business owner in Pittsfield of KidZone Child Care Educational Center for 13 years and KidZone Transportation of 10 years. I am writing in regards to why I finally went to City Hall and became a registered voter.
I have never been into politics and never thought my vote mattered so why bother? All that changed when I met Donna Todd Rivers. We met at her place of business when I started creating family memories with my grandchildren along with working with her and her staff on activities for my business. We would talk about business in general and the issues going on in Pittsfield.
We became fast friends and found out we had a lot in common. When I heard Donna was running for city councilor at large I knew that I had to register to vote and that is when I realized that my vote does matter! So off to City Hall I went.
While I was filling out the form to vote I couldn’t believe I was having butterflies. I finished filling out the form and was given my official paper with my instructions of where I was to go and vote on Nov. 5. I walked out of City Hall with a smile on my face knowing that I was going to be able to help a friend who was going to make a difference not only in Pittsfield but also made a difference in my life.
Please go and vote for Donna Todd Rivers for councilor at large, I know she has my vote!
