To the editor of THE EAGLE:
I support John Krol’s re-election as our Ward 6 city councilor. John embodies many of the essential qualities an elected official should possess. He is a thoughtful listener, a proactive leader, responsive to constituents, respectful of competing interests, and appreciative of city-wide issues.
I have seen John in action, as we worked to rectify a dangerous infrastructure issue in my neighborhood. The roads near my home suffered from fundamental flaws that left them littered with crater-sized potholes. With no sidewalks, children played in the street while cars veered to avoid gaping holes. It was an accident waiting to happen. John not only listened to the residents’ concerns, he took meaningful and constructive action. Working with the neighborhood, the mayor’s office and various key city personnel, John helped facilitate a productive solution -- a new road that was safe for pedestrians and vehicles.
John listened and voiced his constituents’ concerns. He worked hand-in-hand with elected officials and the city’s departments. He displayed leadership and political savvy. He mixed his intelligence, common sense and passion to serve in order to get a good result for our community and our city.
I respect John for his professionalism, dedication and commitment to his constituents. I urge Ward 6 residents to join me in voting for John Krol on Nov. 5.
