PITTSFIELD -- Pittsfield police arrested three men allegedly fleeing the scene of a shooting in which a Toyota Rav 4 was struck four times early Thursday morning.

Police received a report of gunshots on Danforth Avenue and a silver BMW racing from the scene towards Lee at about 4:09 a.m. An off-duty Pittsfield police detective driving on South Street into work spotted the BMW heading towards Lee on Route 7, according to Pittsfield Police Sgt. Mark Bushey. Pittsfield police notified police in Lee to be on the lookout for the vehicle. Lee police officers stopped the vehicle and Pittsfield police arrested the three men inside. No gun was immediately found.

Police were still in the process of interviewing the men at about 7 a.m., Bushey said. Nobody was believed to be struck by the bullets, he said. The men were expected to be arraigned in Central Berkshire District Court in Pittsfield later today.
