The fourth quarter was back and forth, but clutch free throws from Chad Shade sealed the win for Pittsfield. Overall, the Generals shot 15 of 22 from the free-throw line, while Holyoke shot only 7 of 17.
PHS coach Steve Ray credited the defense of Anthony Jones on Holyoke star player Justin White. Jones limited White to just five points for the game. Guillermo Godreau-Rivera led Holyoke with 20.

Taconic 73, Greenfield 56
AMHERST -- The Taconic boys basketball team used a balanced attack and its size advantage to beat Greenfield 73-56 in the Pioneer Valley Tip-off at the Curry Hicks Cage.
The Braves put four players in double figures as Greenfield couldn't contain Taconic down low. Big men Mike Taylor, Treyvon Ringgold and Charles Davis finished with 17, 15 and 14 points, respectively.
"This is the first time in two years we didn't even attempt a 3-point shot," Taconic coach Bill Heaphy said. "The plan was to get the ball inside. All our points were layups and close to the basket."
Shaq Ardrey also finished in double figures with 14. Connor Eckstron led Greenfield with 14.
