With all that we know about the importance of early literacy and reading to your child, I am alarmed that Fisher-Price is selling an infant bouncy seat that allows for an iPad to attach to it. As a community with United Way and Pittsfield Promise taking the lead we are fighting for our youngest members of Berkshire County to look away from the screens and into books.
A fourth grade teacher recently told me that it is no coincidence that her top students are also her top readers. Berkshire County, let's join together and support programs that encourage reading to young children. Turn off the screens, hold your babies, and read.
