Chameleons night club in Pittsfield will host a "Punk vs. Metal Night" with Rebel Sound Records beginning 8 p.m., Friday. The lineup includes: Upstate New York's Lila Ignite, along with local rockers Nice Try Kid, Altruism, Backlashes and Bad Ideas, and Another Vendetta. Cover is $8 for ages 18-20, $5 for age 21 and up. The punks completely takeover Chameleons on Sunday with an all-ages matinee show starting at 2 p.m. Sunday's lineup includes: The FU's, Amerikan Citizens, Funzzle and The Money$. Cover for the matinee is $7.

Also happening Friday night, #TheShutdownTeam and the Backnine Bar & Grill at The GEAA in Pittsfield presents "The Jump Off: 2K14 Edition." This 21-and-up dance party features DJ B and DJ Marc the Don mixing all sorts of dance music. Doors open at 9. Ladies get in free before 11 p.m., and there's a $5 cover otherwise.

Northampton's band And The Kids, a self-described "existential glitter popsicle crisis" will take on The Parlor Cafe and Michael Chapman's birthday this Saturday, starting at 9 p.m. in North Adams. They promise it will be quite the bash.

Looking to get out of the house Sunday? Check out the "Frosty Snowshoe, Toasty Yoga" workshop with The Trustees of Reservations. Instructor Tracy Remelius will lead a snowshoe hike around the gardens, roads and mansion ruins of Ashintully Gardens in Tyringham. Afterward, the group will head into the onsite music studio of John McLennan for a warm yoga session. The program, which takes place between 1 and 4:30 p.m., is great for beginners. On Tuesday night, Tröegs Brewery of Hershey, Pa., will take over the taps of Mission Bar & Tapas in Pittsfield, beginning at 6. Beers on draft will include: Perpetual IPA, JavaHead Stout, Troegenator, HopBack Amber, Mad Elf and DreamWeaver Wheat. Enjoy learning about the beer through a tasting, and perhaps even score a free pint glass or two. Open mic with Jordan Franklin will follow at 8.
