To the editor of THE EAGLE:

Congratulations are in order to Kim Taylor for her recent appointment to the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities.

I’ve known Kim since 1979 when we both joined the Boston Symphony Orchestra family; she wrote and I photographed an article for its newsletter. Since then, we’ve collaborated on a great deal of work, traveled the world with the orchestra and published a book, "Seiji: An Intimate Portrait of Seiji Ozawa."

Kim is brilliant, extremely accomplished and her experience is second to none. She’s a force of nature and a legend in the arts -- a tremendous asset on any team. Bravo to the folks in Washington for recognizing her talents. America will benefit enormously from her contributions.
