NEW LEBANON, N.Y. -- Ellie Field and Liz Bernardy earned two victories each for the unbeaten Hoosac Valley girls swim team, as the Hurricanes beat New Lebanon 67-27 on Tuesday.
Hoosac's boys completed the sweep with a 45-11 win.
Field won the 50 freestyle (27.49) and the 100 butterfly (1:04.42) for Hoosac, with Bernardy claiming the 200 individual medley (2:30.53) and the 100 free (1:00.46). Alyssa Bush, Emma Whitney and Cori Ghidotti also earned individual wins. Hannah French won the 500 free for New Lebanon, which also won the 400 free relay.
For Hoosac's boys, Micah Tassone (200 IM, 500 free) and Keith Pero (100 breaststroke, 100 fly) were double winners.
Mt. Anthony sweeps St. Joe
PITTSFIELD -- Despite dropping both duals -- the girls lost 56-38 and the boys fell 44-27 -- St. Joseph got two wins each from Aileen Archambault, Jessie Tobin and Wyatt Porter on Tuesday.
Tobin won the 50 free (26.72) and the 100 back (1:08.03) and Archambault took the 200 free (2:19.1) and the 500 free (6:27) to lead the St. Joe girls.
"With Jessie, I feel like I could put her anywhere and she could win," St. Joe coach Shannon McMahon said. "Aileen's pretty consistent when she swims her 200 and her 500."
On the boys side, Porter won the 200 free (2:30.18) and the 500 free (7:11.75).
"For him, I think it's been coming," McMahon said. "He was due to get a couple of wins. He likes those two events, so he's been working hard.
